Swim Lessons will now be offered as a live video program. Learn more about the changes we’re making.
If you're a dedicated (or even an occasional) participant in our daily Swim Lessons broadcasts in the thinkorswim® platform, you understand how dynamic the market can be—it's changing constantly. Soon it's the Swim Lessons program that will be changing, from a daily webcast to a live-streaming video feed, accessible directly from the platform's home page.
Co-host Kevin Hincks and I will be joined with new contributors and industry experts to ensure that we provide you with the freshest and most diverse perspective on the markets possible. We’ll also be coming to you a half hour earlier, beginning at 11:00 am ET.
If you or a friend has a family lake home, you understand the benefits of the off-the-beaten-path setting—intimate gatherings, easy interaction, the same friendly faces and the feeling of exclusivity. But that trendy public beach, with all the action, energy, crowds and visual splendor, has its appeal, too.
What if you could have the best of both swim venues?
That's our aim with the new Swim Lessons format. Our team of contributors, co-hosts, and industry experts will continue to analyze the trading day, in real-time, as we offer key market insights and education on how to use the thinkorswim platform, to help sharpen your stock, options and futures trading skills. Not only will we continue to interact with you via chat rooms, but the new video format will serve to enhance the experience and allow us to be even more approachable.
Soon, the video module will be available from the home page of the thinkorswim platform, so you'll no longer need to click your way through five menus and sub-menus to get there.
So … consider this new Swim Lessons format that trendy beach venue.
However, if you’re not quite ready to make the switch, you can still access Technically Speaking (11am to 11:30 am CT) and The Plunge (11:30am to 12:30pm CT) on thinkorswim. Just go to the Support/Chat tab, click Chatrooms and select Swim Lessons from the list.
When we were kids, the typical pool consisted of a big rectangle, with a roped-off deep area featuring a diving board, and a separate rectangle pool, off to the side, for the youngsters. Today's swimmers, however, get an all-encompassing free-form structure with a zero-depth at one end, a shallow section for the splash-and-giggle crowd, dedicated lanes for the serious lap swimmers and yet another section for those looking to dive and plunge.
Think of the new format as a modern waterpark for swimmers of all types. As we migrate to video, we'll be consolidating a few of the legacy shows, specifically Technically Speaking, The Plunge, Wading Pool, and thinkScripting. Though these programs are being eliminated, the content is not. Swim Lessons will include regular segments featuring the content from each of the eliminated programs, in a new, more engaging format.
Come on in; the water's fine.
Hosted by former floor traders Scott Connor and Kevin Hincks, along with a new crew of contributors and co-hosts, Swim Lessons offers market insights and analysis, along with ways to use the thinkorswim platform to boost your stock, options, and futures trading skills.
Note: We'll be adding live video Swim Lessons to different operating systems, platforms, and devices, so be sure to stay tuned!
