Investors appear to be in an optimistic mood this morning on news that the United States and China have agreed to high-level trade talks next month.
The overseas tensions that helped weigh on stocks to start the week appeared to ease a bit Wednesday in both Hong Kong and the U.K., lending Wall Street a positive tone early on.

Optimism around the trade talks perked up this morning after a new statement from China. On the data front, there’s a new GDP estimate to consider, while earnings news from retailers also keeps pouring in.
